★
noun.
a particle of antimatter; a unit of matter, such as a positron, antiproton, or antineutron, corresponding in mass and properties to an elementary particle but with an opposite electrical charge or opposite magnetic properties. When an antiparticle collides with a corresponding particle, they destroy each other, thereby releasing great energy.
