石窟型制之一。它是由覆斗形殿堂窟派生出的另一种类型，窟室呈矩形平面，四壁不开龛，后部中央有马蹄形大佛坛，坛上塑佛、菩萨、众弟子及天王像，四周有通道。

It is one shape of grottoes derived from the inverted funnel-shaped hall grottoes. The chambers in them are rectangular with no niches in the walls. In the middle of the back part of such grottoes are big U shaped altars circled by passages and upon the altars are sculpted statues of Buddha, bodhisattvas, disciples and Heavenly Kings.
