也称药师三尊，是药师佛与日光菩萨和月光菩萨的合称。药师本用以比喻能治众生贪、瞋、痴的医师。在中国佛教一般用以祈求消灾延寿。

The Eastern Trinity refers to the Three Saints of Bhaishajyaguru, the Buddha of Medicine, including Bhaishajyaguru, Suryaprabha, and Candraprabha. “Saint of Medicine” is a simile for a doctor who can cure the three defilements of greed, anger, and delusion. In China, Buddhists worship the Eastern Trinity to ward off disaster and to seek longevity.
