Ji Chant

佛经和讲经文中的诗赞。本为佛经偈颂中的颂词(讽颂、孤起颂)，译经中的偈句式整齐，但不一定押韵。

Ji refers to a song of praise in Buddhist sutras or scripture- expounding texts, and is originally a verse, or gatha, in scriptures. When translated into Chinese, the song is often of a similar sentence pattern, but not necessarily rhymed.
